While We Were Sleeping…Rothbury Recap
Man, I don’t know what happened, but we completely spaced on the Rothbury Festival, which took place in Western Michigan over the 4th of July weekend. The Festival was organized in hopes of “harnessing the spirit of the music festival community into a durable social movement.” Beyond music, and there was plenty of that, concert-goers also got yoga lessons, costume designs, test-drives, and a slew of info and interaction on how to live a more eco-friendly life-style. The bill was jam-packed with talent, and the emphasis is on jam. Outdoor festival favorites including John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band, Phil Lesh, and Phish’s Trey Anastasio all performed. Also on stage was Snoop Dogg (pictured above), 311, Widespread Panic, Flosstradamus, Michael Franti, The Black Keys, and many more…
Man, this is something that could have been brought to my attention Yesterday…I definitely won’t be sleeping on next year’s, as the organizers say they will be back again. Much more Rothbury goodies are available here and here. Clips below…
