Spotlight Video – Stop The Violence Movement

KRS originally launched the Stop The Violence Movement in 1988 after the death of Scott La Rock and many others due to gun shots. The accompanying song, “Self Destruction” included a who’s who of Golden Era Hip Hop. Twenty years later the violence has not stopped, and in the Windy City, a full classroom of Chicago Public School Students have been killed this year alone. KRS hasn’t stopped either. He’s remained a vocal proponent of peace, and has also held Hip Hoppers accountable for their actions. In 2008, KRS revived his Stop The Violence Movement, and chose Chicago as the official launching pad.
Ruby Hornet was on hand at the Stop The Violence Press Conference. Check out our exclusive footage, and let’s all turn the volume up on peace!
