As we move into October, Kami De Chukwu is quickly becoming one of the fastest rising emcees coming out of Chicago. In a time when violence is on all of our minds here in Chicago, especially us in the Hip-Hop world, today Kami exhales what has probably been crammed in his head ever since the death of his good friend Rod. Kami has stated that the main reason he began taking rapping so seriously, was in the wake of Rod’s passing. With Hudson Mohake’s re-work of the Giacomo Puccini opera piece  “O Mio Babbino Caro“,  Kami glides through the track with a fiery message, regarding the violent issues our city faces. But he’ll keep showing love because he’s “so damn Ig’nant”. Definitely peep the lyrics at RapGenius. Hit the jump for the stream/download.
