from the forthcoming mixtape bell hooks

We are currently on the third day of Kwanzaa, and BBU come to us with a Kwanzaa gift in the form of a new single off their forthcoming mixtape, bell hooks.  The song is produced by Tony Baines, and includes a sampling of Nirvana as well as Rage Against The Machine, two bands that have greatly influenced BBU.  In addition, each day of Kwanzaa carries its own name as well as attribute.  The third day of Kwanzaa is called “UJIMA”, which means collective work & responsibility.  As Epic from BBU says, the day’s meaning perfectly explains the making of this song.  “We had to work together to make this track possible.  We collabed with Tony Baines on production and when he pulled up the Nirvana sample and it all made sense. We are all 80’s babies and when Kurt Cobain died on April 5, 1994 it fucked us all up. The Nirvana sample set the mood for the track and the hook, “Fuck You I wont Do What you tell me,” are the words of Zack De la Rocha of Rage Against the Machine. Between the sample by Kurt Cobain and the words of Zack De La Rocha, we made a perfect fuck you to the music industry, which is probably why a lot of blogs wouldn’t fuck with it. We knew the Homies at RubyHornet would fuck with “Kurt De La Rocha”, since they have understood and put on for our camp since day one. So we hit up Matt Boy White who does the majority of our artwork and he came up with this super dope cover art, which is the combined face of both Kurt Cobain and Zack De La Rocha, THAT SHIT CRAY!!   Hit up DJ RTC and here you go, the premiere of “Kurt De La Rocha” off the “bell hooks” mixtape dropping in February.. Swag, Swag Cool-aide!!!”

Couldn’t have said it better myself.  Enjoy
