Les Savy Fav: "Let's Get out of Here"
November 11, 2010Uncategorized

Tim Harrington is a crazy man, an indescribable force of nature. I've seen him climb into a garbage can and get carried around a crowd talking like Oscar the Grouch. I've seen him give random concert-goers haircuts on stage. All that and his band, Les Savy Fav, also make some fine music. Their latest, Root for Ruin, carries on from where 2007's Let's Be Friends left off. Sold pop songs played with energy and verve. The first single "Let's Get Out of Here" is typical of the album. Harrington wails over a steady but ever enjoyable backing beat with a guitar so good it almost goes unnoticed.

The Hundreds Public Label Fall 2010
November 11, 2010Uncategorized

The Hundreds brings back their Public Label for Winter 2010 with a nice looking collection of more subtle, accessible pieces for the well dressed man. Taking a different approach than their cheeky California-inspired t-shirts and apparel, the Public Label takes a more 'sophisticated' route. This season looks to offer a wide array of button downs, jackets, and pants. This is a welcome sign from The Hundreds and it'll be exciting to see what the full collection entails. The full collection will drop next Thursday, 11/18 at THSF, THLA, and THNY. Take a look at their video lookbook after the jump.

Kid Cudi: MOTM II Lyric Book
November 11, 2010Uncategorized

Kid Cudi released his sophomore album, Man On The Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, this week. The album came in two forms. Fans could purchase the regular version of the LP, or for a few dollars more, they could walk away with the deluxe edition. The added features included a DVD of unreleased footage, folded packaging, and a lyric book (pictured above). Inside are the lyrics to each track on the new LP, presented in a cool font and sandpaperish material (sorry, I was never good at arts and crafts). I think the lyric book alone makes the deluxe edition worth the money, and if you're into collecting music, I high suggest copping that version. Kid Cudi and Chip Tha Ripper appeared last night at Chicago's RSVP Gallery where they hosted an in-store and signed some copies, including my lyric book above.

UNDERCOVER x Nike Sportswear: "I Run Tokyo"
November 11, 2010Uncategorized

via Hypebeast
Since September, the UNDERCOVER and Nike Sportswear technical running collection dubbed GYAKUSOU has invaded both the Internet and various marquee Nike cities across the globe. A project has culminated over both a stellar range of product as well as various running-based events. The collection which brought together UNDERCOVER and founder Jun Takahashi’s penchant for understated and considered detailing meshed well with the technical executions from Nike. For the GYAKUSOU’s launch on October 20th of last month, a massive relay event was held at National Stadium in Sendagaya, Tokyo. A 4-man, 12.8 kilometer relay was complimented by an after party which also featured a full look into the collection.
