Curren$y aka Da Hot Spitta has finally returned on the solo mixtape side of things with Smokee Robonson mixed by DJ Don Cannon. This mixtape has been in the works since Spitta came through to Dimes and Dozens and his closed session this summer and released this morning. I've been a fan of Curren$y since the No Limit days but I have to say that my favorite work of his came with his barrage of mixtapes after gaining release from Lil' Wayne's Young Money label and culminated with his This Ain't No Mixtape album from early '09. Hopefully Spitta can return to that form considering his How Fly mixtape was trash (save like 2 songs) and regain his excellence with Smokee Robinson. The leaked tracks "Bout It", "Visions", "Lemon Kush", & "Damier Doobies" along with Chip Tha Ripper's "Fat Raps" (feat. Big Sean & Curren$y) are all certified bangers that this mixtape can definitely build upon, let's see if the Plane's truly do "Got It" this time around.

Lil' Wayne, the highest grossing rapper of 2009, will begin a one year jail sentence at Rikers Island tomorrow. The prolific rapper has a very different world awaiting him, one with virtually none of the freedoms he enjoys in his day to day life. MTV talked to police and correction officers to find out what Weezy can expect when he reports tomorrow. According to the article, Wayne will be able to watch regular TV, and keep his long dreadlocks. He will not be able to keep an iPod, and may not be held with the general population. Check out the video below.
